The Ukrainian military will test anti-aircraft missiles from the Estonian defense company Frankenburg Technologies.

These inexpensive missiles are designed primarily to shoot down drones.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.

The first missiles for testing will be delivered by the end of 2024. These missiles are capable of shooting down targets at an altitude of up to 2 kilometers.

The missile tests were discussed at a meeting in Kyiv between Brigadier General Anatolii Klochko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and the management of the Estonian company.

“Our aim is to help Ukraine win this war. To do this, we are offering a sample of a new low-cost missile to shoot down air targets, especially unmanned aerial vehicles,” said Frankenburg Technologies CEO Kusti Salm.

He added that in the event of successful tests and consent for further use, the production of these missiles could be organized in Ukraine.

The parties have previously agreed that the next step may be to agree on a format for financing the production of these missiles.

Deputy Minister of Defense Anatolii Klochko emphasized that it was extremely important for Ukraine to have the widest possible arsenal of the missile weapons to repel the Russian aggression.

He also called on foreign manufacturers of such weapons to provide them to the Ukrainian military for testing in combat conditions.

“We are open to cooperation and are ready to use various models of modern weapons,” the deputy minister said.

The company itself does not disclose the exact characteristics of its missile or its appearance. In the photos published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, a model of the missile can be seen on the table during the meeting, but it is not yet known whether it corresponds to the appearance of a real missile by Frankenburg Technologies.
