HENSOLDT will deliver four more TRML-4D radars by Diehl Defense to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The radars are designed for Ukrainian IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.

The company announced this on its website.

Within a Diehl Defence order worth a mid-double-digit million sum, the TRML-4D radars are to be delivered to Diehl in the course of 2024.

“This order is the result of the excellent operational results reported back from Ukraine. We are proud to be able to help further strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability. These radars protect lives!” Thomas Müller, CEO of HENSOLDT, shared.

TRML-4D uses the latest digital radar technology. It is capable of detecting, tracking, and classifying different types of aerial targets.

This system focuses well on small, fast, low-flying, and/or maneuvering cruise missiles, as well as aircraft and helicopters that maneuver or fly at low altitudes.

It ensures the rapid detection and tracking of about 1,500 targets in a radius of up to 250 km.

The mobile radar uses an active electronically scanned array (AESA) based on solid-state gallium nitride (GaN) elements.

The radar station is equipped with an on-board generator and can be transported by any truck.

The TRML-4D is the latest version of the TRML family of medium-range C-band radar developed by Hensoldt in 2018.

The radar allows for the detection, tracking, and identification of various types of air targets, including small-size, high-speed, low-flying, and/or maneuvering cruise missiles.

Last month, Militarnyi reported that the HENSOLDT company would supply six TRML-4D radars worth over €100 million.
