European countries are willing to transfer tanks to Ukraine to equip two tank battalions, and the United States will equip another one with Abrams tanks.

The German government’s decision to transfer 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine unlocked a larger aid package from European countries.

In general, the plan is to create two tank battalions with 40 units of equipment as soon as possible.

The German tanks should arrive at the end of March 2023.

It is noted that the decision in Europe was made in coordination with the USA, which should also hand over a battalion of Abrams tanks.

A company of one of the battalions will be equipped with Leopard 2A6 tanks from Germany, Finland, Spain, and the Netherlands.

The second battalion of Leopard 2A4 tanks is being created by Poland and Norway.

As previously reported, Portugal also shared its intention to transfer Leopard 2 tanks. In addition, Sweden announced the possible transfer of tanks to Ukraine.

Overall, a coalition of 12 countries agreed to transfer tanks to Ukraine.
