The United States is allocating a new batch of military assistance to Ukraine to combat Russian aggression.
The Pentagon announced this on May 6.
The package includes funds for the purchase of artillery ammunition and radar systems.
The day before, the U.S. Department of Defense announced the authorization of security assistance to Ukraine valued at up to an additional $150 million.
Previously, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that he had authorized a new weapons package for Ukraine to help it fight an unprovoked Russian invasion.
According to Biden, the package includes funds to purchase the artillery rounds and radar systems.
The Pentagon noted that capabilities in this package are “tailored to meet critical Ukrainian needs for today’s fight as Russian forces continue their offensive in the east of Ukraine.”

According to the Pentagon, the United States has now committed approximately $4.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden Administration, including approximately $3.8 billion since the beginning of Russia’s unprovoked invasion on February 24.
The United States sees no obstacles to the supply of foreign weapons for Ukraine.
A few days ago, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using 155-mm high-explosive rocket-assisted ammunition.
