Ukraine will receive two Mirage 2000 fighter jets from France by the end of the first quarter of 2026 as part of military aid.
Journalist Romain Mielcarek reported on this.
According to an informed source who wished to remain anonymous, the two aircraft are to be delivered in addition to the three that were supplied last year.
Thus, by the end of 2026, Ukraine is expected to have four Mirage 2000 fighter jets at its disposal, since one was lost last summer.
The transfer of the new aircraft is accompanied by additional training for both pilots and the ground personnel who will service them.
In the long term, according to the journalist, the Ukrainian Air Force will have at least six French Mirage 2000 aircraft at its disposal.
According to his source, the cost of maintaining three fighter jets amounts to €10 million per year.
Previously, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, reported on preparations for the transfer of the aircraft.
As part of strengthening its air defense, Ukraine is also expecting further deliveries of SAMP/T, Mistral, and Crotale systems along with ammunition.
