Defense Minister Rustem Umierov has announced allies key decisions on military assistance to Ukraine for 2025.

The details were published on the minister’s social media page.

Minister Umierov stated that as a result of numerous meetings and negotiations held by the Ukrainian government this fall, €12.6 billion, $10.7 billion, and £3 billion were raised to support the Defense Forces for the next year.

Key sources of support for 2025:

1. Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will allocate 0.25% of GDP to support Ukraine
2. The United Kingdom: £3 billion annually until 2031
3. Denmark: €8.7 billion by 2028. In 2025, military assistance will amount to €2.2 billion, including joint projects and investments under the “Danish model 2.0”
4. The EU: at the beginning of the year, we will receive the second tranche of military aid worth €1.9 billion. These funds will be used to purchase ammunition, air defense systems, missiles and support for our defense industry
5. NATO: up to €500 million as part of the Alliance’s Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine for 2025
6. The Netherlands: €4 billion in 2024-2026
7. Germany: €4 billion in direct military assistance
8. Norway: increases support to NOK 30 billion ($2.7 billion)
9. United States: $5.5 billion in military assistance
10. Sweden: a three-year framework program worth SEK 75 billion ($7.5 billion), or $2.5 billion annually

“In recent weeks alone, we have held a number of important meetings with our allies aimed at identifying key defense needs, analyzing previous assistance, and developing new formats of cooperation,” Umierov stated.

He cited the Nordic Group + Ukraine coalition as an example of new alliances: 12 countries – Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom – are joining forces to strengthen Ukraine’s security.

The minister also highlighted the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. Numerous projects have created conditions for the development of production:

• long-range missiles and drones
• 155-mm ammunition
• localization of production of air defense systems, missiles, heavy armored vehicles and artillery
• development of robotic systems, electronic warfare systems and radars

Umierov emphasized that the “Danish model” of purchasing Ukrainian products for the needs of the Defense Forces, which provides for the financing of contracts with the Ukrainian defense industry at the expense of foreign partners, has proven to be effective.

A day earlier, the heads of government of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Sweden issued a joint statement in which they assured of increased military support for Ukraine in the coming months.

“We will increase our support for Ukraine. In the coming months, we will increase our support, including for the Ukrainian defense industry, and we will invest in providing Ukraine with more ammunition,” the seven European countries affirmed in a statement.

The leaders noted that their countries are the largest donors of military aid to Ukraine per capita, emphasizing that their support will not weaken.

This week, the European Commission also discussed the allocation of 1 billion euros from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to develop Ukraine’s defense industry.
