A BRAVE1 cluster is being created in Ukraine. It will act as a single coordination platform for the development of the defense technology industry.

The cluster creation is reported by the National Industrial Portal.

The BRAVE1 defense cluster should be presented in Kyiv tomorrow, on Apr. 26. It should become the only platform for cooperation between defense companies, governmental structures, and the military. Investors, volunteers, the media, and everyone who helps to bring victory closer through technology will also be able to take a part in communication.

BRAVE1 is created on the basis of the Innovation Development Fund, which is part of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. It’s created by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and by the Government, i.e., the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Strategic Industries

BRAVE1 is created to provide a technological advantage over the opponent. Government officials claim that the cluster will transfer advanced Ukrainian solutions to the frontline, comprehensively support domestic developers in the field of innovative defense technologies, and develop the field to transform Ukraine into a world leader in defense technologies.

“This will be the only platform where any Ukrainian who has an idea related to military technology can get validation of this idea, that is, confirmation of whether it has the right to life,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation.

According to the minister, the author of the idea will be able to get resources to bring it to life.

“This is starting from grandees, irrevocable, ending with an expert assessment and consultation with the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, from business. That is, incubation of this idea. Then it will be possible to get an investor, or state contracts, in order to bring this idea to life on a large scale,” Fedorov said.

He noted that this will be the only platform where innovative military technologies will be born that “will help us on the battlefield to defend our country.”

“These are drones, this is electronic warfare, this is cybersecurity, these are different autonomous unmanned platforms. Anything that is able to <…> defend our country,” the minister said.

It is stated that in addition to the presentation of the platform itself and its capabilities, several new military developments from Ukrainian companies working in this area and having unique solutions for the country’s security and defense forces will be shown.
