Ukrainian volunteers have started restoring engines from downed Russian Shaheds.

The Zampotech Charitable Foundation is performing the restoration.

The Foundation reported that it takes about two weeks and several donor engines to restore one engine.

“We are restoring enemy drone engines so that they can serve Ukraine. Every part matters,” the Foundation shared.

The Foundation receives dozens of engines from Shaheds for restoration. The restored engines are then installed on Ukrainian drones.

The Shahed uses a Chinese MD550 engine, which costs between $12,000 and $17,000.
