The Armed Forces of Ukraine received Iranian-made mortars.

Iranian 120 mm HM-16 mortars fall into the hands of Ukrainian Territorial Defense soldiers.

Most likely, these mortars were captured by the United States from pro-Iranian groups in the Middle East or intercepted on one of the Iranian naval convoys.

It was reported that Iranian mortars were received by soldiers of the Melitopol Territorial Defense Battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The manufacturer stated that the HM-16 mortar has a maximum range of 6,600 meters.

Iranian HM-16 mortars are a replica of the Israeli Soltam K6 mortar, which is developed by Soltam Systems of Israel.

Earlier it became known that the Ukrainian defense forces also received Iranian 81/82 mm HM-15 (a copy of the Israeli М64 – ed.) mortars with similar origin.

Recall that in 2021, the US Navy detained an unmarked ship in the Arabian Sea. Many weapons were found on board.

Among the weapons seized are dozens of Russian anti-tank guided missiles, thousands of Chinese Type 56-1 rifles, hundreds of machine guns, sniper rifles and grenade launchers, as well as optical sights.

The crew of the ship were released after interrogation, and all weapons were seized.

It can’t be excluded that the United States will also transfer these weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
