Ukrainian HIMARS rocket systems started to hit Russian mobile drone launchers.
The soldier with the social media nickname External Pilot (зовнішній пілот – Ed.) shared that one of these launchers was detected with the help of a Ukrainian Leleka drone.
The invaders tried to disguise the mobile launcher in a forestry area. The launcher was based on a regular trailer carrying an off-road vehicle.
“I don’t know what kind of vehicle it was, but the crew of Zala-421 was traveling on it. It is no longer moving,” the soldier said.
The Zala-421 reconnaissance drones are manufactured by the Russian company ZALA AERO.
A Leleka drone assisted in targeting an American M142 HIMARS rocket system at the Russian position. It destroyed the launcher and the Russian off-road vehicle.
Such launchers comprise a catapult on a trailer. Attempts were made to disguise the vehicle with camouflage nets.
Although the launcher is designed for a single launch, it can immediately change position after the drone is launched.
According to analyst Paulius Zaleckas, this launcher was hit near the village of Pokrovske, located near the town of Tokmak in the Zaporizhzhia region.
As previously reported, the Russian invaders had adapted Lancet loitering munitions for use with these mobile launchers.
Russian Lancet loitering munitions have become one of the biggest threats that the Ukrainian military is facing.
In turn, Ukraine’s defense industry has developed a new Perun loitering munition. The Ukrainian development is very similar to the Russian Lancet drones.
