Special forces of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (DIU) located and struck a self-propelled launcher of the Buk-M3 air defense system in Russian-occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The DIU press service released a video of the strike.

The attack took place near the settlement of Oleksandrivka, more than 50 kilometers from the front line.

Without additional footage, it is unclear whether the system was completely destroyed or only damaged.

However, the drone targeted the most valuable component of the air defense system, meaning the launcher will require extensive repairs.

Such drones are typically used for strikes deep behind the front line, particularly in occupied Crimea, where they have already destroyed multiple air defense systems, radars, several aircraft and helicopters, as well as damaging boats and vessels.

On September 10, DIU special forces used a drone to hit a Russian multipurpose vessel of the MPSV07 project.

At the time of the attack, the vessel was conducting electronic reconnaissance and patrolling approaches to Novorossiysk Bay, where Russia bases the remaining ships of its Black Sea Fleet.
