The Ukrainian Defense Forces are set to receive the first domestically produced Inguar-3 armored vehicles in the summer of 2025, with modifications based on combat testing experience.
Artem Yushchuk, CEO and co-founder of the manufacturer, discussed the updates in an interview with Armiya TV.
According to Yushchuk, the serial production vehicles will be equipped with an integrated electronic warfare (EW) system, which can be controlled from inside the vehicle using a dedicated console.
In response to military feedback, the company is also working on equipping the vehicle with standard anti-drone ‘grilles’ or at least factory-installed mounts for them.
The company is developing a medical evacuation version of the Inguar-3.
Among the key differences is that it will be equipped with a rear ramp to facilitate the evacuation of the wounded personnel.
Additionally, a remotely operated combat module is being developed.
The stabilized system will allow the installation of a 12.7 mm M2 heavy machine gun or an Mk-19 automatic grenade launcher, paired with a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.
The Ukrainian company Inguar officially presented the new Inguar-3 armored combat vehicle in March 2023.
The Inguar-3 was officially introduced by the Ukrainian company Inguar in March 2023.
This vehicle is a new generation of modular tactical armored vehicle with separate front and rear armored capsules.
This design allows for quick configuration changes, converting the vehicle into an assault vehicle, pickup truck, or heavy weapons carrier.
It features composite armor made of aluminum and steel plates, with modular aluminum elements for quick replacement.
The manufacturer states that the vehicle offers STANAG 4569 Level 3a/3b protection, meaning it can withstand 7.62×51 mm armor-piercing bullets and fragments from 155 mm artillery shells at a distance of 60 meters.
Its mine protection is rated to withstand the detonation of an 8 kg high-explosive anti-tank mine, equivalent to the Soviet TM-62. The design prioritizes enhanced protection of the under-engine compartment against blast debris.
The Inguar-3 features an independent suspension with planetary gearboxes and a frame structure. It is powered by a 356 hp Deutz engine (1,500 Nm torque) paired with an Allison automatic transmission. Additional features include a centralized automatic tire inflation system and RunFlat inserts for continued mobility in case of tire damage.
In August 2024, Ukraine’s Azov Brigade tested the Inguar-3 in combat at Serebryansky Forest in the Luhansk region. By December 2024, the company had secured its first orders from the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
