Within a week of the start of the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian servicemen liberated 300 settlements.

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Defense Minister, announced this during a nationwide telethon.

“The operation to liberate the Kharkiv region has been ongoing for several days and was planned to last for several days. Since September 6, 3,800 square kilometers, over 300 settlements, and approximately 150,000 of our people were from the occupation. The operation is ongoing, it is planned to continue until the complete liberation of the Kharkiv region,” Maliar said.

The Ukrainian servicemen launched a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region on September 6.

As previously reported, on September 12, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine liberated 20 settlements in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions within a day.

On September 11, the Ukrainian military reached the border with Russia in the north of the Kharkiv region, returning the village of Hoptivka under Ukrainian control.

A day earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the liberation of the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region from the Russian occupation.
