A batch of Ukrainian BTR-4 armored personnel carriers has been delivered to the 63rd Mechanized Brigade.
The announcement was published on the brigade’s page.
The brigade’s soldiers highlighted the reinforcement of the unit with Bucephalus armored personnel carriers and emphasized the need to build infrastructure for their maintenance.
“Our 63rd Brigade received Ukrainian Bucephalus armored personnel carriers. However, they are wheeled and often need prompt repairs. As you can imagine, there are no tire fitting stations on the contact line. We need a special mobile workshop. To buy it, we are raising UAH 1.6 million together with the Your Step charity foundation,” the military said.
The new vehicles will significantly strengthen the brigade’s units due to their high firepower and maneuverability. The photo archive of the 63rd Brigade’s social media shows that, in addition to T-72 tanks, the brigade previously had only Soviet MT-LB armored personnel carriers, BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, and M113s supplied as part of military aid.
Thus, the 63rd Mechanized Brigade became at least the fifth formation of the Defense Forces to receive new Ukrainian combat vehicles since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022.
In addition to them, the 56th and 58th Motorized Infantry Brigades of the Armed Forces, as well as the Spartan and Kara-Dag National Guard Brigades, have also received new equipment since then.
Recently, a brigade unit of attack drones conducted a successful operation to knock out Russian logistics near Terny.
The operators used FPV kamikaze drones to destroy an armored group of two Russian MT-LB armored personnel carriers and a mortar, and then hit the occupiers’ trucks in the rear, which were transporting supplies to the front line.
Earlier, Militarnyi also demonstrated rare footage of the effect of an onboard electronic jamming system on one of the tanks of the 63rd Brigade, which caused the enemy attack drone to lose control.
