Ukraine receives MV-25 OSKAR, the latest French attack drone

Ukraine’s military has been armed with a new MV-25 OSKAR French loitering munition of the MATARIS line.

KNDS France reported that the drone has already received positive feedback from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

KNDS France developed the MATARIS line of loitering munitions in partnership with DELAIR and EOS Technologie.

It covers the full scope of barrage munitions systems, which includes four models:

• MT-10 – a dual-rotor drone with a range of 10 km
• MX-10 DAMOCLES – a quadcopter “wing” with a range of 10 km
• MV-25 OSKAR – a fixed-wing aircraft with a flight range of 25 km
• MV-100 VELOCE 330 – fixed-wing aircraft with a range of up to 100 km

These drones are designed to perform various short- and medium-range operational tasks.

The entire range was developed in record time to quickly fill a gap in the French military arsenal.

The MX-10 DAMOCLES, manufactured within 12 months, will enter service with the French Army in July 2025. DELAIR manufactures the wing, and KNDS Ammo France produces the fragmentation warhead. The MX-10 is capable of neutralizing infantry units and unarmored and light armored vehicles.

“MV-25 OSKAR is already in operation in Ukraine. It took only two years from the beginning of development to operational deployment in Ukraine,” KNDS shared.

Oscar successfully completed a test flight with a combat unit in June 2024.

The MV-100 VELOCE 330 was developed to combat medium- and long-range threats. The platform from EOS has a flight range of 100 km and a speed of over 400 km/h (thanks to a turbojet engine).

Based on BONUS projectile technology, KNDS Ammo France has created a 2.5 kg anti-armor warhead for it. Operational tests with detonation are scheduled for the end of 2025.

Recently, it was reported that the French automaker Renault will organize the production of drones in Ukraine.
