Slovakia might be selling the self-propelled howitzer on a wheeled chassis to Ukraine.
Militarnyi informs about it.
Yesterday, the media reported that Ukraine is currently negotiating with Slovakia on the provision of the Zuzana self-propelled howitzer.
There are claims that the negotiation process regarding the purchase of this military equipment is almost completed.
Ukraine intends to purchase 2 batteries of these artillery units, i.e. 16 of the self-propelled gun howitzers with a caliber of 155 mm.
That the training of the Ukrainian crew could take approximately a week.
The maximum firing range of Zuzana is 40 kilometers.
Production of the Zuzana self-propelled howitzer in Slovakia was established back in the 1990s. The original model for it was the Czechoslovak vz.77 Dana. The new self-propelled artillery mount, however, received a 155mm gun with a longer barrel, which increased its range.
In 2021, Slovakia has launched a planned replacement of the Zuzana self-propelled howitzer with the new Zuzana.
Last year, the country received the first Zuzana-2 ACS.
The first eight new 155mm ACSs were delivered on July 22, 2021.
