The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized the use of domestically produced WINFLY FPV strike drones within the country’s armed forces.
According to an official statement, these drones enhance Ukraine’s ability to target Russian invaders and their equipment.
WINFLY UAVs are built on multiple standard frame sizes—7, 8, and 10 inches—allowing for different payload configurations.
According to the Ministry of Defence, their design incorporates recommendations from frontline drone operators.
In particular, certain engineering solutions have been applied to increase the crews safety during combat operations and the resistance of drones to enemy electronic warfare.
WINFLY drones are produced in various configurations for a wide range of missions.
In addition to striking ground targets, certain models are designed to pursue and destroy enemy reconnaissance drones.
These FPV drones are developed by the volunteer-led WinFly association, which continuously upgrades its UAVs based on battlefield experience. The group is also working on infrastructure development, including relay systems for extended operational range.
In March, Ukraine also approved the domestically produced NORD FPV drones for military use.
The Ukrainian government plans to triple its procurement of attack drones in 2025, with contracts for 4.5 million FPVs.
Ukrainian manufacturers that increase the localization of component production will be prioritized in defense contracts, according to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
