The Ukrainian military-industrial complex has developed a shaped charge mine with a PTM-1L warhead.
The relevant photos were published by the columnist GrandpaRoy2 on his X account.
It is reported that the mine is adapted for remote mining from drones.
It is equipped with a magnetic fuse, which is similar to a comparable mechanism of the Soviet anti-tank mine PTM-3.
The principle of the fuse’s operation is that when the mine is hit or driven over, it detonates due to fluctuations in the magnetic field.
The magnetic fuse ensures the mine cannot be defused without detonation, as any interaction triggers an explosion due to the influence of the Earth’s magnetic field.
When detonated, the mine forms an Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP), which penetrates the hull of a combat vehicle, destroying its crew and internal components.
The technical characteristics of the device remain unknown.
In April 2024, Militarnyi reported that Ukraine had developed a number of analogs of Soviet anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.
In particular, domestic versions of the Soviet mines MON-50, MON-100, MON-200 and TM-62P have been developed.
The full-scale Russo-Ukrainian war has shown the importance of extensive remote mining of positions, fields, and roads.
During their offensive attempts, Russians suffer heavy losses in terms of armored vehicles and personnel as they hit mines planted by Ukrainian drones or engineering units.
