Ukraine Develops BLITZ-2 Twin-Fuselage Drone

Ukraine has developed the BLITZ-2 twin-fuselage drone, designed to perform a wide range of tasks.

The manufacturer, Global Mark, released a video presenting the drone.

According to the developer, the drone is multifunctional and can be used for both reconnaissance and strike missions. Its maximum speed is up to 160 km/h.

According to the manufacturer, the drone can be launched from unprepared sites and is equipped with a ski-type landing gear.

Other technical specifications, including payload capacity and flight range, have not been disclosed.

A key feature of the BLITZ-2 is its twin-fuselage design. This configuration is intended to provide increased in-flight stability, improved load distribution across the airframe, the ability to carry larger or modular payloads between the fuselages, and enhanced aerodynamic efficiency.

The twin-fuselage layout may also simplify the integration of different payload and combat configurations without significantly affecting the center of gravity.

The name suggests the drone may be based on structural elements of its predecessor, the BLITZ, which is designed to intercept various types of enemy drones. The original BLITZ was introduced last October.

The BLITZ is equipped with an autopilot and an automatic target-tracking system, which simplifies operation and allows use by operators with limited training.

In addition to strike missions, the drone can conduct photo and video reconnaissance. It is powered by an electric motor, reducing noise and thermal signature during flight.

According to the manufacturer, the drone has a wingspan of 1.5 meters, a length of 1.1 meters, and a takeoff weight of about 5 kg. The maximum flight altitude is 4,000 meters. Cruising speed varies by modification, ranging between 90 and 130 km/h.

The operational range is declared at 30-100 km, with an endurance of up to 60 minutes, enabling use in both tactical reconnaissance and precision-strike missions.
