The Come Back Alive Foundation, together with PrivatBank, is raising funds for the Yatahan school, which will train drone operators.

The Come Back Alive Foundation reported about this.

On Friday, April 12, the corresponding fundraising was announced.

In this way, the charitable foundation is contributing to the creation of a school for training specialists in unmanned aerial systems within the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with PrivatBank, they are raising UAH 33 million to be spent, among other things, on installing and equipping modular classrooms, flight tracks and practicing combat scenarios, a UAV repair shop, and purchasing training boards and simulators, etc.

Yatahan is a school within the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is being formed on the basis of one of the training centers. The defenders will undergo professional training, acquiring the military specialty of an external pilot (operator) of unmanned aerial vehicles. The school will train about a hundred specialists every month, and three times as many by the end of the year.

The military will be able to master:

  • FPV-kamikaze and with ammunition;
  • reconnaissance and attack UAVs of the copter type;
  • reconnaissance drones and short-range kamikaze drones.

“This is more than just a fundraising, because thanks to it, Ukraine’s defenders can undergo professional training and acquire the military accounting specialty of a pilot,” the foundation emphasized.

The Come Back Alive Foundation noted that they had an approved training program and professional teaching staff. Therefore, it remains to raise the necessary amount to fully staff the school.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces need a large number of pilots,” says Serhii Matviichuk, head of the UAV school, “We will be able to train qualified specialists who will effectively use drones in the combat zone.”

It is emphasized that the partnership and cooperation agreement between the Come Back Alive Foundation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine was only the first step in developing capabilities in the field of UAV training.

“We invest in the knowledge and skills of the Ukrainian military. It is not the drones that repel the enemy, but the people who operate them,” the foundation added.

Last month, the Come Back Alive Foundation received 3,000 night FPV kamikaze drones, which were purchased within a joint project with United24 and Monobank. This large batch of FPV drones with thermal imaging optics was purchased within Operation Unity Part II: Fireworks!
