Ukraine and the United States signed a 10-year security agreement on June 13, 2024.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his X page (former Twitter).

“Today is a truly historic day. We signed the strongest agreement between Ukraine and the United States during the time of our independence,” the President of Ukraine wrote.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Joseph Biden signed a 10-year agreement during the G-7 Summit.

A 10-year bilateral agreement on security cooperation provides for strengthening Kyiv’s defense capabilities.

“President Zelensky and I just signed an agreement between Ukraine and the United States. Our goal is to strengthen reliable protection of Ukraine and its power, to keep it for the long term,” U.S. President stated.

Prior to this, Ukraine signed a number of other security agreements with partner countries, including Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Iceland, Latvia, Belgium and others.

The agreements provide for material support to the Defense Forces, training of military personnel, etc.
