Ukraine and Turkey agreed on cooperation in the field of military rehabilitation.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.
The agreements were reached at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Mustafa Levent Bilgen.
“We are very grateful for the assistance provided to Ukraine by the Republic of Turkey. Now the list of such assistance has been expanded to include cooperation in the rehabilitation sector. So we thank you for your support and cooperation,” Kalmykova emphasized.
Turkey will cooperate with Ukraine in a new pilot project of the Ministry of Defense, which includes, among other things, the creation of centers of excellence – institutions that will take the lead in rehabilitation.
Militarnyi previously reported on the launch of a pilot project to rehabilitate Ukrainian soldiers in late May.
The main purpose of the pilot project is to create an effective rehabilitation space with the participation of civilian and military healthcare facilities, social services, and local governments.
The rehabilitation process in the healthcare sector must go through a reform phase.
Among the priority tasks are the unification of standards and protocols, end-to-end monitoring and control of results.
The reform process also involves the formation of the so-called effective patient route.
Such a route will be based on the prognosis of their further treatment and rehabilitation, as well as the identification of specialized institutions according to the characteristics of their injuries and diseases.
In the near future, the Ministry of Defense will test the system’s capabilities, identify challenges and create a transparent, efficient and user-friendly rehabilitation system.
