Ukrainian Defense Industry and Weibel Scientific, a Danish company specializing in radar development and production, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Ukrainian Defense Industry announced this on its official Telegram channel.

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Munich Conference in the presence of Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Troels Lund Poulsen, Minister of Defense of Denmark, and Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

The new cooperation agreement provides for the possibility of establishing a maintenance and repair service for Weibel radars already in use in Ukraine.

In addition, the memorandum covers the joint development of new technologies and the establishment of a joint venture.

“This new partnership will not only address the immediate needs of the Defense Forces today but also help further develop our radar industry. This refers to the opportunity to develop new radar stations that combine the best practices gained on the battlefield and advanced technologies,” Oleh Huliak, Director General of the Ukrainian Defense Industry, shared.

Weibel Scientific offers customers a wide range of radars. From small radars for measuring projectile velocity and radars for drone detection to radars for ballistic missile detection and space monitoring.

In particular, the company’s radars are used in Kongsberg’s new NOMADS air defense system.

The system integrates an X-band radar of the XENTA-M family. The specific model of the radar is unknown, but if the most powerful M5 version is chosen, its range of detection of air targets can reach 75 km.

The Gravehawk surface-to-air missile system, designed specifically for Ukraine, has been officially unveiled in the UK.

The project was implemented by a small team at the UK Ministry of Defense, Taskforce Kindred, responsible for supplying British weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

The cost of one Gravehawk system is about £1 million, with half the amount financed by Denmark.
