Ukraine and Albania have signed a long-term agreement on cooperation and support.

This was reported on the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The agreement covers aspects such as security and defense, cyber defense, cooperation in defense, intelligence, security, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) safety and security.

In addition, the agreement provides for humanitarian mine action, enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure to attacks and cooperation in the event of a future Russian armed attack on Ukraine.

The agreement was signed in Davos on January 21, 2025, and is designed for 10 years, during which the countries will support security and defense activities, focusing on the most urgent needs and promoting interoperability with Euro-Atlantic partners.

Albania will facilitate training of the Ukrainian military in multilateral formats, implement train-the-trainer programs, and contribute to the fighter jet coalition by providing training for Ukrainian pilots and technicians in English.

As part of the agreement, the countries will increase support for the defense industry by attracting additional funding for weapon development and production, joint weapon development, and integration of the defense industry into the European Defense Technology and Industrial Base.

It is planned to expand cooperation in the field of cyber defense, including the prevention, detection, deterrence, and termination of cyber aggression, cyber espionage, and hybrid warfare. Ukraine will ensure the exchange of information with Albania and the development of practical cooperation in implementing advanced communication and information technologies.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Albania has been providing military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and will continue to make contributions to meet the most urgent needs.

One of the key areas of cooperation has been support in the event of a repeat Russian aggression against Ukraine. In such cases, Albania will provide rapid and sustained political, security, defense, humanitarian, and economic assistance.

In addition, the agreement covers many areas of state functioning, such as the economy, education, trade relations, and justice.

Militarnyi previously reported that on Thursday, January 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed an agreement on the centennial cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement aims to launch a 100-year partnership, building on the progress made under other bilateral agreements, as well as on further achievements that have strengthened relations between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
