Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace confirmed the UK’s intention to supply Ukraine with a batch of Starstreak MANPADS.

The Militarnyi reported about it with reference to the BBC.

“We are supplying them. They will go into theatre,” Wallace said.

Earlier, he had already announced the transfer of these weapons and clarified that “it remains within the framework of defensive weapons definition, but allows Ukrainian forces to better defend their skies.”

At the same time, it is not specified exactly how many MANPADS will be transferred to Ukraine.

Starstreak is a British portable anti-aircraft missile system designed to destroy enemy helicopters and aircraft. Range of action: 1500-5500 m.

Wallace also said that Great Britain supplied Ukraine with 4,000 anti-tank weapons.
