The U.S. Department of Defense unveiled the contents of the list of new military aid to Ukraine with M1117 armored vehicles.

$400 million in additional security assistance for Ukraine is allocated under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

Defense assistance provides for the allocation of funds for the modernization of HAWK anti-aircraft missiles for their further transfer to Ukraine.

In addition, 45 Refurbished T-72B tanks with advanced optics, communications, and armor packages will be delivered to Ukraine.

Ukraine will also receive 1,100 Phoenix Ghost tactical unmanned aerial systems.

It is worth noting that 40 armored riverine boats of an unknown class are being transferred to strengthen Ukrainian forces on the water.

Tactical secure communications systems and surveillance systems are being transfered.

Funding is also earmarked to refurbish 250 M1117 armored security vehicles and for the maintenance and sustainment of already transferred equipment.

Andriy Yermak, thw Head of the Presidential Office, thanked the United States for $400 more million military aid package for Ukraine.

“We thank the American allies for another $400 million military aid package for Ukraine. It includes, in particular, T-72 tanks; M1117 armored security vehicles; armored riverine boats; Phoenix Ghost tactical unmanned aerial systems. Together we will defeat Russian evil,” Yermak wrote.

As previously reported, the United States handed over M1117 ASVs, which are used as a light armored vehicle for infantry, to Colombia and Greece.

The M1117 armored security vehicle is a 4×4 wheeled armour vehicle, weighing 15 tons, provides crew protection from small arms fire and improvised explosive devices. Armament is located in a single turret that rotates 360 ° and provides an angular elevation of 45 °. The ASV is equipped with day and night sights. The main armament is a 40 mm grenade launcher and a large-caliber machine gun.
