Two army aviation brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received UAVs within the joint project of the Come Back Alive Foundation and “Toronto Television” (Ukrainian Toronto Television – ed.).
The Foundation’s press service reported this on social media.
The Ukrainian military received two unmanned aircraft systems at once.
This time, the 11th Army Aviation Brigade “Kherson” and the 16th Army Aviation Brigade “Brody” received the UAVs.
The Foundation published a photo of the drones that were handed over to military aviators.
The purpose of these UAVs is not disclosed. Come Back Alive only noted that such unmanned aerial systems significantly increase the combat effectiveness and survivability of Ukrainian helicopters.
“The best indicator of the performance of these drones is that there is no bad news,” says Ihor, an army aviation expert.
The first unmanned aviation system purchased by Come Back Alive in cooperation with Toronto Television last October was delivered to the 18th Army Aviation Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In early September, the team of the Toronto Television YouTube channel launched a fundraiser for unmanned aerial vehicles adapted to the needs of Ukrainian army aviation. Within a month, the channel’s viewers managed to raise UAH 8 million.
Come Back Alive Foundation decided to double this amount from the charity’s general accounts to purchase twice as many such Ukrainian-made drones.
These UAH 16 million will provide all army aviation brigades with unmanned aerial systems adapted to their needs.
In December 2023, the Come Back Alive Foundation and Toronto Television transferred naval aviation navigation systems to the Ukrainian Navy. Helicopter crews received a total of 24 such navigation systems.
