The manufacturers of Darts attack drones have already begun supplying the military with twin-engine drones in small series.

A representative of the manufacturer told Militarnyi about this at Brave1 Demo Day.

Darts twin-engine attack drones, along with other manufacturers, are participating in the Brave1 defense-tech cluster’s tests to find a kamikaze UAV that can hit targets at a distance of 40+ km and uses an airborne repeater.

The updated twin-engine Darts has a payload of up to 12-14 kg compared to the single-engine version.

“Compared to single-engine Darts, it has a larger payload, estimated up to 12-14 kg. So far, it has already flown 8+ kg on combat missions. It has already been tested, it carries absolutely calmly without any issues,” said a representative of the manufacturer.

He also noted that the distance of 40 km was convenient for the drone.

“At the last Demo Day, we added two batteries. We flew there (to the target – ed.), simulated several approaches to the target, even flew 45 km instead of 40 km to approach from the other side. In other words, we flew over the target, returned and still had a reserve,” a manufacturer’s representative said.

As for the possibility of working with an airborne repeater, the company is currently working on a solution to demonstrate new capabilities of the attack drones at the final stage of testing.

“We are currently testing the transponder, and this time we came to the expo because we didn’t have time to test everything to show it. But next time we will come with very interesting solutions that are really needed at the front,” a company representative added.

As a reminder, Brave1 is holding a series of Demo Days to find integrated solutions with attack drones that can hit targets at a distance of 40+ km and will use an airborne repeater.

Only those drones that meet the stated terms of reference will be allowed to participate in the final stage of the tests. The full list of requirements for manufacturers is not disclosed for security reasons.

The tests also featured a demonstration of Virtus attack drones from the German company Stark-Defense.
