Turkish company Hidrodinamik Shipyard have signed a contract for construction and supply of a composite floating dock.

Pallada Kherson State Plant, which is part of Ukroboronprom State Concern, has to construct a composite floating dock with 8,500 tons of capacity.

The marine structure shall be built on modern technology — the pontoon will be made of marine reinforced concrete based on sulfate-resistant Portland cement, and the towers will be made of shipbuilding steel.

The structure of the reinforced concrete pontoon should provide increased rigidity of the entire dock and significantly reduce the thermal deformations associated with the effect of the difference in temperatures of sea water and ambient air.

This combination of materials allows to reduce maintenance costs for over 50 years.

All basic materials will be made in Ukraine, and the equipment — manufactured in Europe and Turkey.

Since 1968, Palada has built 43 similar docks of various modifications, 39 of them successfully operate in many countries around the world.

“This is the first Ukrainian-Turkish contract concluded after a free trade zone agreement between Ukraine and Turkey was signed by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Trade of Turkey Mehmet Mus in the presence of two Presidents — Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” Director of the Pallada Plant Yevhen Alkhimov said.

Recall, in January, the Pallada Kherson State Plant laid a floating dock for the company “ISKRA SHIPYARD 1 LLC” from Croatia. For Croatia, a new generation composite floating dock with of 5,000 tons of capacity was laid.
