Czech defense company Excalibur International, part of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), and Turkish electronics manufacturer Aselsan have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The partners will establish a joint venture to expand their defense capabilities in the European and global markets.

The main focus will be on technical cooperation in areas such as air defense, electronic warfare, smart ammunition, and border security.

One of the first results of the partnership was the integration of the Korkut air defense system on the Tatra Force 6×6 wheeled platform. As part of localization, production is planned to be transferred to CSG facilities located in the Czechia and Slovakia.

The anti-aircraft gun is equipped with a twin 35 mm automatic cannon capable of firing at a rate of 1,100 rounds per minute. The maximum firing range is 4 kilometers.

The main technical feature of the system is the use of ATOM 35mm programmable ammunition. These are airburst shells that release a cloud of tungsten fragments at a specified point in front of the target.

Thanks to its high accuracy and digital fire control algorithms, the Korkut system is capable of effectively destroying drones and cruise missiles, making it significantly cheaper than conventional missile systems.
