U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that his administration is actively considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defense system.

Ukrinform reported on this, citing its correspondent at the White House.

“They (the Ukrainians) would like to have it – I know they’ve submitted a request. So it’s something we have to seriously consider,” the President stated.

According to him, Patriot air defense systems are “very rare” and “very expensive.”

Trump also emphasized that Ukraine is facing heavy air strikes, which is why the issue of supplying Patriot systems is under consideration.

“So we’re looking into it (the delivery of the Patriot system),” the U.S. President stated.

It can be assumed that this statement was made in the context of negotiations between the German government and the U.S. regarding the purchase of two Patriot systems for Ukraine.

Berlin is awaiting a commitment from the U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to deliver two Patriot systems, with funding provided by Germany.

According to The Guardian, the United States currently holds only 25% of the interceptor missile stockpiles required for the Pentagon’s military plans involving the Patriot air defense systems.

The limited availability of these critical air defense resources, essential for countering ballistic threats, led the Trump administration to temporarily halt their shipments to Ukraine.

Resumption of U.S. Military Aid

It was recently announced that, under the directive of President Donald Trump, the United States will provide Ukraine with additional defensive weapons.

This announcement followed a statement made by President Trump during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

Wall Street Journal journalist Lara Seligman reported that on Friday, during a phone call, Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he is not responsible for the halt in arms deliveries to Kyiv.

According to sources familiar with the conversation, Trump said that he had ordered a review of the Pentagon’s ammunition stockpiles following the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities last month, but he did not instruct the Pentagon to freeze arms deliveries.
