Counter-offensive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue in various areas of the frontline.
Since the beginning of this week, the Ukrainian military has freed more than 770 square kilometers from Russian occupiers in eastern Ukraine.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 7.
Ukrainian forces liberated 29 settlements, 6 of them in the Luhansk region.
“Only during this week, our soldiers liberated 776 square kilometers of territory in the east of our country from the Russian pseudo-referendum and 29 settlements, including six in the Luhansk region,” Zelensky said.
According to him, a total of 2,434 square kilometers of Ukrainian land and 96 settlements have already been liberated since the beginning of this offensive operation.
The president added that there are “good results” for this week in the south of our state as well.
“Every day we liberate our land and our people from a pseudo-referendum there,” he said.
Zelensky stressed that Ukrainian forces will necessarily reach “lands that were occupied by Russia earlier.”
Since the beginning of October, the Ukrainian military has de-occupied more than 500 square kilometers of the territory of the Kherson region.
“Only in the time from October 1 and only in the Kherson region, more than half a thousand square kilometers of territory and dozens of settlements were liberated and stabilized from the Russian pseudo-referendum,” Zelensky said on October 6.
On October 7, 2022, the Ukrainian military liberated the village of Makiivka, Svatove district, Lugansk Region, from the Russian invaders.
