Ukraine’s Third Army Corps has announced the formation of an Unmanned Systems Regiment and launched a recruitment drive for specialists in various fields.
The corps’ press service made the announcement, inviting candidates to apply for positions within the newly established unit.
“The UAS regiment consists of pilots, engineers, IT specialists, sappers, mechanics, and electricians—servicemen who conduct strikes, reconnaissance, technical improvements, or ensure uninterrupted operations on the front line. Each has its role and purpose,” the corps stated.
Applications are being accepted via the regiment’s official website.
Available positions include strike and reconnaissance drone operators, operator assistants, analysts, UAV sappers, and signalers.
The regiment also seeks auto mechanics, electrical technicians, driver mechanics, developers, clerks, and medics.
“When the infantry advances, we secure the front and provide air defense. With us, you can work in your field, but now your expertise will help shape the course of battle,” the website says.
On March 14, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was officially designated as the core of the Third Army Corps.
“Our plans are to change the principles of this war—and with that, shift the course of the war in Ukraine’s favor. Si vis pacem, para bellum. Glory to Ukraine!” Andriy Biletsky, the brigade commander, now corps commander, said.
According to the brigade, the new corps will be built on three key principles:
Ukraine’s armed forces have begun a long-discussed process of forming new large-scale military formations—army corps.
It aims to improve coordination among brigades and other units in both defensive and offensive operations.
In military structure, an army corps is a permanent formation comprising multiple brigades, ensuring coordinated operations in a designated combat zone. Its primary functions include synchronizing unit maneuvers and managing resource supply according to battlefield conditions.
A corps typically consists of two to five brigades, with personnel numbers varying by country, military branch, and mission requirements. Depending on its structure, a corps can range in size from 10,000 to more than 50,000 troops.
