The wreckage of a downed Russian Ka-52 helicopter was discovered in the Kherson region.
Footage featuring the wreckage of the aircraft was published by a Ukrainian military officer on a social network.
The Russian attack helicopter was shot down when Russian troops were still occupying the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
Presumably, the helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces was shot down in September-October, but only now discovered.
The helicopter had a distinctive drawing in the form of an alligator, which was shown on Russian social networks in August of this year.
Also, beside the wreckage, the Russians had installed a cross with the inscription: “We will take revenge.”
The crew of the Ka-52 Ka-52 attack helicopter consists of two people, and the cross may have been installed by a rescue mission in honor of the fallen pilots.
This is not the first Ka-52 wreckage that the Ukrainian military finds in the Kherson region.
In October, soldiers of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade discovered the wreckage of a Ka-52 in the Kherson region.
Also in October, Ukrainian forces discovered another downed Ka-52 helicopter in one of the areas of hostilities.
The manufacturer stated that the flight characteristics of the Ka-52 allow it to develop a speed of up to 300 km/h, while the Ukrainian military presumably used portable air-defense systems to shoot down these helicopters.
The armament of the Ka-52 consists of a 30-mm gun and six suspension points that can accommodate 23-mm guns or launchers found near the downed Russian helicopters.
