The United States has no information that the weapons transferred to Ukraine through military assistance are not being used for their intended purpose.
Patrick S. Ryder, the Department of Defense Press Secretary, stated this.
“At this point, we have no credible information that would indicate that there’s been any diversion of Ukrainian assistance into illicit means. Again, and I think the results on the battlefield in this case speak for themselves,” he noted.
He also added that the US and its partners note the effectiveness of the use of the provided weapons. Due to the obtained forces and means, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are maintaining the defense and returning the territories previously captured by the invaders.
“We continue to see the Ukrainians taking the capabilities that they’re being provided by the United States and the international community and using it to great effect to defend their nation and regain sovereign territory,” the Pentagon official added.
The question of control over Ukraine’s use of weapons arises regularly.
Thus, recently, the U.S. Congress once again rejected the request to audit aid provided to Ukraine.
This time, it was initiated by the Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
However, the Republicans do not plan to give in.
Marjorie Taylor Greene confirmed that she will reintroduce the resolution as early as next month.
Previously, the Pentagon already reported on the absence of violations by Ukraine with regard to the use of weapons provided by partners.
At the beginning of November, Patrick Ryder reported that U.S. officials had conducted appropriate inspections and had not found any violations.
As previously reported, the USA is preparing a decision to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems. A decision on their transfer may be made this week.
