The United States and Great Britain will be providing additional artillery to Ukraine.
According to Militarny, the leaders of these countries made their respective statements.
After a meeting with NATO leaders, Joe Biden claimed that the Allies would be providing Ukraine with more artillery for defense in the war with Russia. When asked whether it will be the United States shipping the additional artillery, Biden said yes.
The package of military aid for Ukraine, which was announced on April 13, 2022, included 155-mm howitzers and 40,000 artillery shells.
The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau stated that Canada will also ship over the “heavy artillery” to Ukraine. He noted that this is the result of the personal request of Volodymyr Zelensky and promised to provide more details later.

In his address to the Parliament, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson said that London has plans to hand over artillery to Kyiv. Johnson argued that the war in Donbas is moving into a new phase.
“This will become an artillery conflict, they need support with more artillery, and that is what we will be giving them… in addition to many other forms of support,” said the Head of the British government.
The 155-mm artillery has not yet been used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian defense industry made an attempt to create a 155-mm wheeled Bohdan ACS, but its tests were not completed.
Forbes has published an article in which columnist Craig Hooper concludes that the transition to a NATO-standard caliber of 155 mm is the unalterable future of the Ukrainian army.
Ukraine had received offers from the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann to purchase the PzH-2000 ACS.
Ukraine is negotiating with the government of Slovakia on purchasing the Zuzana ACS.
The United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom could potentially transfer a significant amount of M-109s and AS-90 ACS to Ukraine.
