The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive a modern drone that will help resist Russian aggression.
The Ukrainian World Congress has announced the purchase of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from the Dutch company DeltaQuad.
This UAV is the first to be delivered to the frontline.
The drone was purchased through #UniteWithUkraine campaign, one of the recent efforts to supply the defenders of Ukraine with crucial tactical equipment on the frontline.
This state-of-the-art UAV operates via smart technology which allows for two hours of remote-piloted flight.
“With an encrypted high zoom video and thermal/night vision camera attached to it, the defenders of Ukraine will be able to survey large swathes of land – up to 50km at a time – that is being occupied by the Russian invaders from the relative safety,” the Ukrainian World Congress clarifies.
The UAV also has the ability to autonomously follow and track objects such as a human, car, vessel, and even another UAV.
“This will allow our Ukrainian forces to see where vulnerabilities exist in Russian lines and alert them to any potential hazards or impending attacks,” the Ukrainian World Congress notes.
DeltaQuad will conduct free training for the first ground pilot of the UAV.
The DeltaQuad Pro VTOL UAV has the ability to take off and land vertically. The drone can fly a distance of up to 150 km using an auxiliary battery, or up to 100 km with a payload of 1.2 kg, which can range from different equipment to high-resolution cameras.
Recently, Ukrainian soldiers have shown the “Switchblade 300” launcher in action.
It’s the first demonstration of an autonomous ground launch of a kamikaze drone.
