The identity of the Major General of the Rashists liquidated by Azov has become known – he turned out to be the commander of the elite 150th motorized rifle division. His name was Oleg Mityaev.

Oleg Mityaev was born in 1974 in the city of Orenburg.

In 1991 he has Suvorov Military School graduated. 1995-2007 – served in the East Caucasus District.

He has participated in the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine since 2015. From October 2015 to November 2016, he served as commander of the 1st Motorized Rifle Brigade operating in the Kalmiussky Starobeshevsky district of the Donetsk region. He served as the commander of the 1st Motorized Rifle Brigade under the cover name as Colonel (Major General) Digalo (Varavva) Nikolai Nikolayevich (2018 was identified by SSU counterintelligence Department).

On June 11, 2016, he received the military rank of Major General (decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 276) for organizing hostilities of illegal armed groups on the territory of Ukraine.

In December 2016, he became the commander of the 201st Russian military base stationed in Tajikistan (the largest military facility outside of Russia, stationed in the cities of Dushanbe and Kurgan-Tyube).

In 2020, he became commander of the 150th motorized rifle division. This military formation is interesting because it was created during 2014-2016, after the summer campaign in Ukraine. This division is presented as the heir to the 150th Infantry Division, which stormed the Reichstag in 1945.

The 150th Motorized Infantry of the Idritsko-Berlin Order of the Kutuzov Division of the Land Forces of the Russian Armed Forces (unit №22179) is stationed in Novocherkassk, Rostov Oblast. This unit is part of the 8th Guards Army of the Southern Military District.

According to official data, the division was formed in 2016. That is, this division is new, created specifically for the invasion of Ukraine.

On May 9, 2021, he commanded a parade at the Russian Khmeimim base in Syria.
