The Ukrainian defense forces have seized the 2B16 Nona-K 120mm towed system.

This is a soviet/russian 120mm towed system, a photo of which had been published on social media. The exact date and place of the event are unknown.

In addition to the towed system, at least one russian T-72 tank was seized.

The 2B16 Nona-K is a universal artillery mount that combines within itself the features of a howitzer and mortar.

It was adopted by the russian army in 1986 with the primary user being the russian air assault forces.

The peculiarity of this artillery system is that it can perform the functions of a mortar, howitzer, or anti-tank gun.

The range of firing the conventional ammunition varies from 850 to 8850 m, the active-jet shells – up to 13 km.

The weapon fire rate is 8 to 10 shots per minute. The artillery system service team consists of five people.

A total of 188 of these weapons were produced.

As reported earlier, Ukrainian defenders had previously seized a 2S23 Nona-SVK 120mm self-propelled mortar system in the Kharkiv region.
