The UK might assist Ukraine in supplying drone parts.

Andy Start, Chief Executive of Defence Equipment and Support, stated this during a conversation with journalists at a conference on the UK-Ukraine defense partnership.

One of the types of support in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles that the UK might provide to Ukraine is the supply of parts.

“Ukraine has already reached world-class levels in the production of unmanned systems, especially first-person view (FPV) drones. You are better than anyone else, and the support that the UK can provide is to help with the supply chain and components,” said Andy Start.

He also noted that there are areas in which the UK can share its experience, such as strike UAVs or sophisticated reconnaissance drones.

It also regards joint work not only on the air component for unmanned systems, but also on the sea component.

“We have over seventy Ukrainian companies at the conference and over thirty UK companies, many of which also have drone capabilities, and we are bringing them together to bring the best of both worlds together,” Andy Start added.

Previously, Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, discussed working with partners within the drone coalition in an interview with Militarnyi. The arrangement works according to the “50, 30, 20” principle.

That is, 50% of the funds from the drone coalition fund are used to purchase Ukrainian drones, 30% are for products from partner countries, and 20% are for joint ventures.

Ukraine has already secured €200 million from the Netherlands for drones, £325 million from the UK, and funding from Latvia as well.

“This includes naval drones, surface, and underwater. These are absolutely all domains, four domains that we want to [address comprehensively]. Also, electronic warfare means, because we believe that this is an integral set, the presence of a drone, the availability of systems to combat enemy drones,” Kateryna Chernohorenko added.
