A second version of the Novator armored vehicle was developed in Ukraine and has received some upgrades.
The host of the Big Test project tested the new vehicle of the Ukrainian Armor company.
The modification on the Ford F-550 chassis was developed considering the experience of various units using the vehicle in combat conditions.
The main innovations include an improved suspension and control system, which provides high maneuverability and increased cross-country ability.
“Reinforced front and rear suspension, which will allow it to drive quickly,” the Big Test shared.
The vehicle also became 10 centimeters longer, which allowed the installation of an armored section for additional seats. Novator could previously carry five passengers, and now, there are ten seats.
“Performance with a cargo body, like a pickup truck, was convenient for many purposes. But at the request of the military, a modification was created that fits not five, but ten,” the Big Test noted.
The vehicle’s weight increased by 2 tons – up to 9660 kg. At the same time, the load capacity increased to 3340 kg
Additional armored windows with a 5-centimeter thickness and an additional sunroof were installed. The new Novator was equipped with the ability to install a remote weapon station with a machine gun.
The developers are also considering placing a dome electronic warfare system to suppress enemy drones.
Armor is made of Armox steel, which is highly resistant to mechanical penetration by small arms and cold steel weapons and is widely used in military applications.
A prototype of the Novator-2 armored vehicle was first presented in Poland in September last year.
