The State Special Transport Service of Ukraine is repairing and restoring railway tracks in the liberated territories.
Experts of the specialized military unit are working on railroad tracks in the de-occupied territories of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
Before starting the repair work, the railway tracks are carefully inspected by the engineering and demining divisions of the State Special Transport Service.
After that, the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine, together with the Ukrzaliznytsia employees, replace the standard and insert the destroyed rails.
Additionally, the tracks are being straightened, reinforced concrete sleepers destroyed by explosions are being replaced, missing elements are replenished, debris piles and earth embankments are removed, and trenches and holes created by explosions in the adjacent green area are filled.
All these works are performed only after a second inspection of the territories by the sapper specialists. Even during the second check, explosive objects on the railway and nearby are being found.
These are not always shells or mines. Near one of the stations, specialists discovered several gas tanks near the track. The invaders were trying to blow them up.
This caused inconvenience to the workers and delayed the restoration work.
Railway track repairs are an important aspect of the restoration of the entire transport infrastructure of the country.
It establishes a logistical connection and ensures the return of the population to a normal peaceful life.
Recently, the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine opened a temporary bridge over the Inhulets river to replace the destroyed one near the liberated Snihurivka in the Mykolaiv region.
In the Kochubeyivka amalgamated territorial community of the Kherson region, the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine also opened a temporary crossing over the Ingulets river.
