The Security Service of Ukraine has conducted a special operation in the temporarily occupied part of the south of Ukraine and detained a militant of the “DPR” who fought in the army of the Russian Federation.
This was reported in the press service of the SSU.
The special operation on detainment was conducted in the temporarily occupied part of southern Ukraine.
Investigators established that the man had been shooting at civilians and threatening to kill. He was informed of the suspicion of part 1 of Art. 438 (Violation of the Laws and Customs of War) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.
It was established that the detained man was a resident of Zhdanivka, Donetsk region. In 2014, he voluntarily joined the illegal armed formations and received a “passport” from the local occupation authorities.
The Security Service reported that the traitor had been “seconded” to the 3rd rifle platoon of the 1st company of the 5th battalion of the 109th regiment of the “People’s Militia of the DPR”.
The detainee took an active part in hostilities against the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson direction. He also used weapons against the civilian population: he wanted to extract a confession of alleged involvement in the partisan movement or the sabotage-reconnaissance group.
It is noted that the investigation is ongoing within the framework of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 111 (Treason committed under martial law) and Part 1 of Art. 438 (Violation of laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Law enforcement agencies continue stabilization actions in the de-occupied territories.
As previously reported, in the Sumy region, SSU detaines a group of saboteurs who planned to kill the commanders of the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
