In the Avdiivka sector, Russian invaders have resumed their offensive and are continuing their attempts to surround the Ukrainian city.
However, the soldiers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are holding the line and inflicting losses in equipment and manpower on the enemy.
Servicemen from various units are involved in the defense operations.
Thus, operators of the 3rd Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have published footage of the destruction of Russian armored vehicles that tried to break through the Ukrainian defense in this area.
The Special Operations Forces spotted Russian tanks and wheeled armored personnel carriers moving across open ground in the direction of Avdiivka near the temporarily occupied Donetsk.
Using the available weapons, namely FPV drones, American-made Javelin anti-tank systems and mortars, Ukrainian soldiers quickly stopped the enemy’s advance.
The video footage shows Russian armored vehicles, namely: BTR-80 / 82A and tanks, moving across the open terrain in groups of several vehicles in the direction of Ukrainian positions.
They were moving between the broken equipment that had been destroyed in the previous days of fierce fighting.
The video shows several tanks and armored personnel carriers being completely destroyed by Ukrainian fire and possibly due to hitting mines.
As a result of combat operations, the SOF claimed to have destroyed four armored personnel carriers, two tanks and several dozen enemy troops.
Around October 10, the Russians launched an operation aimed at encircling Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka, which had been on the front line for more than nine years being located near the occupied Donetsk.
It is important for Ukrainian forces to hold their positions in the Avdiivka area, as they allow them to use long-range weapons and artillery against Russian rear targets in the Donetsk region and in Donetsk itself.
