As part of Operation Hoverla, a Ukrainian Special Forces unit captured an enemy stronghold that had not been captured for several months.

Special Operations Forces soldiers conducted a complex and effective operation in one of the sectors, which resulted in the military improving their operational and tactical situation.

As a result of coordinated work, the soldiers managed to capture the enemy’s stronghold at a high ground. According to the press service, the Ukrainian Defense Forces had not been able to take control of these positions for several months.

Details of the operation

Special Operations Forces soldiers began the special operation after careful planning and preparation in cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Under the cover of fire support, an electronic warfare unit, and accompanied by drones, the soldiers moved forward to conduct special operations.

After conducting additional reconnaissance of the positions with a drone equipped with thermal imaging optics, the military struck the identified targets with FPV drones. Immediately afterward, Special Operations Forces soldiers launched an assault.

The enemy was successfully driven out of the stronghold thanks to coordinated and professional work. In addition, the soldiers captured two enemy paratroopers.

According to the conversation with the prisoner, which was captured on video, at least one of the “paratroopers” joined the Russian armed forces directly from prison. According to the Russian invader, he had nine years left to serve.

After clearing and establishing full control over the enemy’s stronghold, designated units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were brought to the height.

On February 2, Special Operations Forces soldiers destroyed an enemy group near Avdiivka that is now being actively stormed by the Russian military.

They also managed to capture four Russian invaders who were hiding in the basement of a house.
