In the southern sector, Russian drone operators came under attack from a U.S. HIMARS rocket system that destroyed the drone’s launcher.
The launcher of the invaders’ unmanned aerial vehicles was discovered by the intelligence officers of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.
The reconnaissance was carried out with the use of a drone that had detected a ZALA drone of Russian soldiers.
The 73rd Naval Special Purpose Center said that they then had begun to monitor the drone’s owners.
After following the target, the military managed to record the movement of a mobile launcher with containers for storing ZALA and Lancet drones.
Then, the SOF operators adjusted the fire of the HIMARS rocket system and artillery unit of Ukrainian Defense Forces on the target.
As a result of the fire damage, the mobile launcher and storage containers for the drones caught fire.
The released video also shows that after the attack, Russian drone operators managed to leave the area of the HIMARS strike alive.
This is not the first time that the U.S. HIMARS rocket system has been used to destroy Russian reconnaissance UAV operators.
As early as 2023, these rocket launchers began to hit Russian mobile drone launchers.
As previously reported, Russian invaders had adapted Lancet loitering munition for use from mobile launchers based on off-road vehicles.
As previously reported, the remains of an attack jet-powered drone similar to British Banshee Jet 80 drones have been found in the Donetsk region.
