Sixth shipment with 84 tons of defense ammunition from US arrives in Ukraine.

Ukraine on Tuesday, February 1, received another batch of military cargo from the United States. About it Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has informed on Twitter.

Generally, Ukraine obtained 500 tonnes of defense ammunition from the United States, Ukrainian Defense Minister has stated.

“The day has not passed yet, and we are unloading the sixth bird from our friends from the United States! Some 84 tonnes of ammunition arrived in Kyiv! In total, for today we have received about 500 tonnes of defense ammunition from the United States! And this is not the end,” Reznikov wrote.

The previous fifth plane from the USA arrived on the night of January 31, was delivered 84 tons of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On January 28, a fourth batch of aid from the United States arrived in Ukraine and 81 tons of ammunition were sent.

On January 25, a third military cargo plane landed in Boryspil international airport with a new batch of additional defense assistance from the United States. The aircraft has delivered 79 tons of defensive armament and ammunition, including 300 Javelin anti-tank missiles.

Defensive aid

The weapon was sent as part of an additional $200 million defensive aid.

On January 23, the second shipment of defense aid arrived in Ukraine from the USA and included nearly 80 tonnes of “lethal security assistance.”

The first shipment of aid arrived in Ukraine from the United States on the night of January 22 at the airport of Kiev. And included nearly 200,000 pounds of lethal aid, including ammunition for forces on the front lines. Besides, for the first time, the new delivery included, except Javelin anti-tank missiles, SMAW-D multi-purpose grenade launchers.

President Biden signed off on the aid in December 2021. In addition, the United States introduced a legislation on land-lease to protect democracy in Ukraine, which aims to simplify the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.
