For the 600 million hryvnias raised by Ukrainians for the purchase of Bayraktars, the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation purchased a satellite from the ICEYE for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Prytula himself reported about the deal.

According to him, ICEYE is the global leader in persistent monitoring with radar satellite imaging.

“Ukrainians, you are amazing. We bought a satellite.

It’s not just one satellite. It gives us access to a database of satellite images of the ICEYE constellation, and this access was purchased more than a year in advance.

From now on, our army will receive high-quality satellite images as quickly as possible, which will help us in operational planning of operations. ,” added Serhiy Prytula.

The decision to purchase the satellite was made after negotiations with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The ICEYE company reported that the agreement will provide the government of Ukraine with ICEYE’s Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite imaging capabilities.

As part of the agreement, ICEYE will transfer the full capabilities of one of its SAR satellites to the government of Ukraine for use over the region. The SAR satellite will be operated by ICEYE.

“In addition, ICEYE will provide access to its constellation of SAR satellites, allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to receive radar satellite imagery of critical locations with a high revisit frequency,” the company stated on its website.

This deal is implemented with the Ukrainian people’s funds, which were collected as part of the “People’s Bayraktar” project in June 2022. The Turkish company Baykar provided three Bayraktar TB2 drones free of charge.

Thus, volunteers were able to send 600 million hryvnias for the purchase of a satellite.
