The Ukrainian military ambushed the Russian soldiers during the liberation of Makarivka in the Donetsk region.

The work of the Ukrainian military was demonstrated on the page of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade.

Specifically, Militarnyi’s sources report that the 137th Separate Marine Battalion and the 2nd Battalion of Ukrainian Naval Infantry participated in the liberation of the settlement.

During the battle, the Ukrainian military set up an ambush on one of the Makarivka roads. The released video captured a Russian KAMAZ Typhoon armored vehicle under fire from a house near the road it is trying to pass.

Ukrainian marines mentioned that tanks and Mastiff armored vehicles were brought in for the assault and performed well.

Ukrainian Marines started mastering these British armored vehicles in June last year. Mastiff is designed to transport infantry and protect against small arms, land mines, and homemade explosive devices.

“As a result, part of the enemy’s personnel was destroyed, part was taken prisoner, and part escaped. Stabilization operations in the village are currently underway,” the military shared.

Deoccupation

On June 11, the Ukrainian military announced that they had liberated the village of Blahodatne in the Donetsk region from the occupation of Russian troops. Subsequently, on June 11, it was reported that the Ukrainian military also liberated the village of Neskuchne in the Donetsk region.

These settlements are located near liberated Makarivka. The next targets of the Ukrainian military could presumably be the settlements of Rivnopil and Staromaiorske with Urozhany.

Generally, over the past day, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have made progress in three areas.

According to Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders had advanced:

• 250 meters in the direction of Bakhmut in the area of the Berkhiv reservoir;
• 200 meters in the Toretsk direction;
• 3 sq km of territory captured in the Berdiansk direction.

“The enemy is doing everything to keep the positions that it captured. It actively uses assault and army aviation and conducts intense artillery fire. During the offensive, our troops encounter continuous minefields, combined with anti-tank ditches. All this is along with constant counterattacks by enemy units on armored vehicles and the massive use of anti-tank guided missiles and kamikaze drones,” she said.
