The enemy does not stop shelling the border areas in the North of the country. Chernihiv and Sumy regions are under mortar fire.

At 4 am, border guards of the Chernihiv detachment recorded shelling by the Russian Federation near the Senkivka checkpoint.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Russians fired about 8 shots with a 120-mm mortar.

Also during the night, single aimless shots were recorded on the territory of Ukraine in the Semenivskyi district of the Chernihiv region.

The enemy had probably used a mortar.

There are no casualties reported as a result of shelling. The information is being confirmed.

Also, the shelling of the Shostka district of the Sumy region was recorded.

During the week, the enemy repeatedly shelled the territory of the Sumy region. On the dawn of May 17, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the town of Okhtyrka. Five Russian missiles struck peaceful civilian facilities and caused a lot of destruction. Five people were injured. The defense forces continue eliminating the consequences of the enemy’s attack.

Also the other day, the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to breakthrough in the Sumy region.
